i was considering the rs180, not too sure about the octopus's pump, and i made my baffles 8 inch deep in the sump compartment. the bubble master looks pretty cool, but im not sure if i can get good sps quality water with that size?

I've seen a lot of members post that the Octopus pumps run HOT. The ER RS180 and the ATI BM160 is very close in air draw, 900lph verses 800lph - 1,000lph.

you might want to rethink the ATI BM160. I've been reading a lot of bad things about it. Sure it pulls lots of air but from what others have stated, is next to impossible to tune and tend to overflow.

I thought about this one too, but for the extra money I decided to go with the recirculating model. It's awesome. Pump is quiet and it does NOT run hot for me. $309 shipped.

Since your comfort level is the ER RS180, pull the trigger on it! You won't be disappointed. I think the RS135 is too small for a BB 90g SPS tank. But you can see what others think.

As for difficult to dial in, I've seen that happen with the BM200, haven't seen anything like that with the BM160. The BM160 is a remake of the BM150, so I pretty confident that they've worked out all the bugs during the rework. Also, on the BM200, it seems just a controlled air valve makes it easy to adjust. I asked about this and received an answer that the BM200 is going through a rework.

If you were happy with your previous ER, then go ahead and get another one. I have an RS100 and I like it a lot. Well built and simple to use.
