Snorkel spots in Tampa?

Hey everyone,

I will spending the weekend near Tampa and would like to get some snorkeling done with my gf. Anyone know of any decent offshore spots? Also, is there any area where one can collect some snails and the like, providing it is legit of course.

Reddington Shores beach access has a cool breakwater rockpile that I frequent when snorkling, tons of red lip blennies, sheepshead, snook, redfish, pompano and tarpon to see with the right tide and visibility... bring a fishing pole with you, at least you'll know where they are sitting before casting....
