How fast do Maximas Grow?

I've been pleasantly surprised: I have four maximas that I got between 3 - 4 months ago....all of them have been growing -- not only do they look bigger, I can see the 'new' part of their shells that is white compared to the older part.

I'm surprised -- I had modest growth expectations -- that they would only grow about 1 - 2 inches per year. What have other people experienced?
