how to remove hair algae from coral?

a friend gave me his candy coral the other day, and i didnt want to turn it down, despite having hair algae on it. the algae is growing in between the heads of the coral. i used a toothbrush to get the algae of the "stalk" of the coral, but dont know how to get in between the heads to remove it.

has this ever happend to anyone? how do i remove it?

thanks

In a healthy tank, hair algae will just fade out and refuse to grow. If your phosphate is low enough for corals to thrive, the hair algae will die out.
That fuge of yours, if healthy, will do it in pretty fast. I TRIED to get some hair algae started for a fish that needed it: wouldn't grow at all.

i have tons of corals, and they have been growing real well. hopefully you are right! i put it in the fuge for now just in case the algae spread, it wouldnt hit the main tank.
