Glass overflow?

Has anyone every made a glass overflow instead of using unsightly pvc pipes? Is it even possible?

Yes, it's possible. It's for a glass tank right?
You can screen the top of the overflow with a variety of things.

Is there a reason you thought they were not common?

um i think he is referring to the standpipe itself...not the overflow box..
and that would be a feat...i think those Elos tanks do something similar though...

Sorry, I think I have the name mixed up. I'm talking about the overflow that siphon water over the side of the tank.

Like this thing:

I'm just wondering if anyone has built one of these out of glass and siliconed it directly to the side of the tank. It would look much nicer than the plastic boxes.

Just drill it, keeping a reeftank is hard enough, why bother messing with an external overflow box when a simple hole will work?

It's a fowlr tank. And the thing is that it is already set up. It is a 120g that I want to hook up to my 75g display fuge. That and my girlfriend won't let me drill it.
