got my first ever paycheck.

Well i got my first ever paycheck. I must say that i was very excited, and i made much more than i thought i was going to make. I made $92.95 and after the stupid tax deduction thingy of $10.97, I was left with $81.98. Not bad for only working two, seven hour days huh? I get some benefits too. I'm making $7.15 an hour, i thought id be working minimum wage

I remember when I was waiting tables. There were pay days when I had to PAY them to cover the taxes on my tips.

Wow time has changed my first check was just a little more than your taxes. I one piece of advice save, save save. Put at least 10% in an account and don't draw the money out!

My son will be 15 on Sunday. We're going tomorrow to get his working papers. He can work a limited amount of hours (3 hours per day, up to 18 hours per week during school) My best friend does the hiring for a grocery chain here. Although they don't hire many 15, he's a sure thing. I told him it was mandatory that he save 50% of his check after taxes. I'll probably let him keep all of his first check.

Congratulations and welcome to the working world!

I remember my first paycheck at 15, walking home from work I was counting up how much I would have when I added this to my allowance. Mom had another idea. I started paying rent!

Save save save!

My first job at the age of 14 as a busboy at a local restaurant didn't give us checks - paid in cash once a month.

Imagine this - no taxes were taken out.

Ah the days of "under the table" paychecks. I remember a few summers of those. Not many, only a couple, but they were better than when I officially entered the working world and began having taxes taken out.

Don't let the tax man get you down!

My first job was at a local grocery store. I got fired for makeing iceballs from the produce aisles. I then worked for a telemarketer. It was thanksgiving and i was in a bad mood. A lady said no to the daily Sun Times. I told her I hope she choked on a turkey bone. OOPS. Fired. I dont remember how much I made at those jobs.
