My man is HOT!! :)

Well, the big day was here yesterday when Matt's best friend Brandon and Amanda got married. He was going to be the best man, but Brandon knew that he wouldn't have done it simply because he hates making speeches. The wedding was beautiful, and the reception was a drunken blur. I figured I would share a few pictures since this was a once in a lifetime chance seeing Matt in a tuxedo!

My cello teacher played for the wedding, here's a photo of her

Here's the best man (left) and the groom (right)

And the drunken aftermath

Haha, you're telling me! There's a ton that are out of focus, but I took lots of pictures so I was able to get a few good ones out of it.

I've been playing for about 15 years now. It's a hobby for me more than anything. My cello teacher is still trying to pay off the purchase of hers. It's kind of funny because it has it's own line of credit.

Here's a photo of mine:

It should be. They never lose their value unless they sustain a large amount of damage. It should really only go up in value over time as long as it is well taken care of.

BTW... my cello is worth more than I paid for my car : / I love it to death though.

I am more worried about what she can do with the cello than it's value. but I know where you are coming from.i hope it gets her into college!!

Oh I totally understand what you mean. I'm glad that you're being very supportive with her That's the best thing you can do, but don't be too pushy.

well I am a bit pushy about practice. I don't push her to perform.
she has some ensembles that she can work with but I know she can't do them all.

Whatever you do, don't force her to practice in the way that my parents did. I was actually punished for not practicing, so it really drew me away from doing as well as I could. Even now as an adult I have poor practicing habits.

we ask her to practice a day before her lesson. we also want her to practice before her performances. she is learning her new stuff and I think she has an innate curiosity about music.

Who's the maker of your cello, Jokergirl? It's a beautiful instrument
Just out of curiosity, what bow(s) are you using?

I've been saving to get a Maestro through Stringworks http://www.stringworks.com/mall/cellomaestro.asp

Nice wood!! I played the viola & cello for about 9 years. Glad to know the orchestra is still alive and well in America.

You have Mr. Joker are a nice looking couple. Both of you have great smiles.

Thanks so much Allie

Surfy, the maker of my cello is Marc Laberte. He is actually a french violinist and was only known to have made a small number of cellos.

My bow is actually nothing special and I havn't had the money to really upgrade to a better one. It was a fuss just trying to get my parents to let me get rid of my fiberboard cello in high school lmao....

I bought my bow from a bowmaker over in China last year. He really does beautiful work and my cello teacher even went and bought one made from him. Mine was only $300, and is made of snakewood with 14kt gold windings and fittings along with some really beautiful mother of pearl inlay. I'll have to take a photo of it later.

Maestro cellos aren't bad at all. I've looked at them in the past a couple of times.

Here's the link for the place I got my bow from. The bow that I bought produces a wonderful sound with my cello, and really helps to bring out the low tones that my cello is known for.
