Are you sure the snails are being eaten? I've had crap results with Turbo's but all of my other snails are doing great.

I have

Cernith - Good for the glass and some sandbed

Nassarius - Great for the sandbed

Nerite - Great for the glass

I "thought" I heard that Turbo's are sensative to high water temps which may explain the poor survival rate in waters over 80 degrees.

well, hermits kill snails. but turbos are similar in size to the hermits and they might want their shells. you could try snails that are smaller than your hermits like ceriths or nerites. i'd say astreas, but they are similar size to turbos.

you might also want to try smaller hermits like dwarf blue legs. i have 5 in my 12g with astreas, a turbo, and ceriths and i dont believe they kill any of them.

When I downgraded to my 29g, I filled up a rubbermaid container with saltwater, put it on my porch and stuck all my rocks and turbos in it.

About 3 weeks later (Average temp outside ~90 degrees), all the turbos survived.
