Post Help! Attack clown

My clown fish has gotten really aggressive. Every time I put my hand in the tank to clean the glass, he actually charges and attacks me.

What's going on? I've had him for 8 years and this never happened to me before.

Is it the species? I think it's a tomato clown.

Thanks for any help/advice.

clowns can get aggressive and territorial. hate to say it but it's pretty typical behavior.
Might want to change the rock work around and see if that helps. or get a magnet algae scraper

Yup, typical behavior. Even damsels will do it as they get older.

usally the round bodied clowns are more aggressive
mine draws blood form me each time my arm goes in the tank
i would recommend catching him in your hand and squeezing until your fist breaks
thats what i plan to do if i could ever catch him

My clown and I have epic battles when I go into the tank. Draws blood everytime. I got her back one time though; I got so tired of her attacking me that I flicked her with my fingers and broke her dorsal. It healed quickly and she was no worse for the wear, but still she comes at me. I usually bring a net into the tank now, to fend her off, but sometimes, she still has a go at me.

Ive had my Tomatoe for 10 years. He used to go at my hand after I had him for a few months but really only nip, not attack and bite full out. He just quit doing it a few years ago and hasnt since.
