moving to a 180 gallon reef

well i finally found the tank ive been looking for and got it at a great price.im using a 55 gallon tank as my sump/fuge.it has 2 overflows that are 10" long and 5' deep.each one has a 1" bulkhead.the returns are going to be 3/4".i was thinking about using a mag drive 1200 as my return pump.i hope thats enough.i will also be using the ASM g2 skimmer with the recirculation mod once i get it complete.anyways here are some pics of the progress.this weekend im buying the lighting and hopefully finishing off the stand and canopy.

oh yea somethings growing in my tank...any guesses

well i got a little more progress done this weekend.got all the plumbing done for the main tank and still need to plumb the frag tank.hoping to do that today.i also purchased all my lighting as well as a reef keeper from a board member.inside the canopy are 4 6' VHO lights powered by 2 ice cap 430 ballasts and then 1 250 watt MH in the middle and 2 175 watt MH on the ends. awesome guy.will definately be back for frags and to pay off the reef keeper.anyways heres some pics of the plumbing and with all the lights on.keep in mind this is not going to be the final canopy.im just using it to get an idea of how its going to look.thanks

jason

ok everyone.i finally got some work done on my stand.here are a couple pics of it.for the doors i wanted as much space as i could to be able to get into the sump and underneath so what i did was just attached the doors with some heavy duty magnets and i can pull the doors off and set them to the side when needed.i like the outcome of it.i still have to build and finish the new canopy.pics will fallow.question until then though.i am trying to grow my cheato algee in my fuge.just wonderin how long i should have my lite on for and if theres anything i can add to help speed up the growth of it.thanks

jason
