My New Eurobraced 90g Semi-Cube
Ok my new tank is almost finished, transfered everything from my 60g, I only need to finish the canopy for my MH lighting and re-arrange some of the rock work and it will be complete. Might re-do my stand pipe but not anytime soon, I want to sit back and relax for a while and just watch the tank for a change

Can I get by with the 4x 54w T5HO I have on there now or should I be stressing about finishing my canopy?

NIce looking refugium, that will give ample habitat for 'pods to grow once it matures. I like the setup you have going there, and it looks like the inhabitants are happy. I wouldn't stress too much about your canopy not being finished, the T5s should be able to take care of your xenia and torch for a while.
From the video it looks like you have strong flow in there. What pumps/powerheads are you running in there? Any plans for SPS once you get the halide in?

What's that on the sand on the lower right corner in the pictures? You can see it in the third picture.

A Little Giant 3-MDQX-SC rated @1100gph is my return pump and provides all the flow. I also have eductors on my 2 return outlets to increase circulation.
I have no additional pumps other than the skimmer's pump and the tiny powerhead feeding my fuge. I already have some SPS frags scattered all over the tank, and I also have a Crocea clam and plan on getting more ![]() My SPS are opening pretty decently so I guess they can hold under T5HO for now Thanks

I need opinions, is this tank too short for a Yellow or Khole tang?

Your tank is fine for a yellow, but I wouldn't put a Kole in there.

Had the RIO pump feeding the fuge melt down... Killed 5 Chromis and almost killed all my fish. I saved them just in time.

Good thing is I only lost 5 Chromis out of my whole stock. It took me around 8hrs to empty, wash out the sand, wash out LR in SW, re-do rock work, re-fill with water and put all fish and coral back in tank. I also had to drive about 30 mins away for more Scripps SW, but at least its free ![]() I am very lucky I had 25g of Scripps saltwater already at home for my water changes or I would have lost everything. I managed to put my fish in fresh clean SW just in time, my Yellow Tang and my Coral Beauty were almost gone, just laying on their side. |
