Sicce pumps

I have 5 sicce pumps and I can not get more than 16 lpm out of them. Does anybody have any ideas how to get more lpm from them? I have tried different mesh sizes and different air intakes. Thanks

How are you testing them??? Do you have alot of head pressure on them perhaps? Too little head pressure can also have an adverse affect sometimes. Something is definitely wrong though...

You have 5 Sicce pumps connected to one skimmer??? You have to post a pic of this. What are you skimming, the Red Sea?

Btw, if you do have them connected to one skimmer, perhaps you are overloading that skimmer with air. That might explain why you are only getting 16lpm per pump.

Did you buy the pumps already modded??? The only place I know of to get them is from Reef Geek. If you bought the standard un modded pump and expect them to perform as good as the ones from ATI, your likely setting yourself up for a big let down. I would compare your pump to the ATI version and try to figure out what the problem is.

Where did you put the air intake?

What mesh, how many layers, and how large compared to the yellow impeller disc? These are all key factors as you no doubt are aware.

Ostrow, I have the hole in the exact same spot as the Sicce pumps. I am using the exact same mesh as they are. The holes in the yellow disk are in the same spot as they are. It does not matter whether I use there pump or my pump the air flow is the same. Thanks

My guess is its your meter that is wrong then....While those pumps do vary in air pull, they dont vary by that much.
