Multiple Triggers

Anyone have any experience keeping multiple triggers in the same tank. I was thinking of trying 2-4 pinktails or hawaiian blacks in a 150 gallon FOWLR. They'd be introduced at the same time and would be the only inhabitants.

Should work for a while but when they hit a length of 7"+ each you might have some issues to deal with.

I have had 5 different types of triggers in the same tank at the same time, including an undulated, clown, and picasso, and though they would nip at each other from time to time, I had no real problems. With a tank that size and a more docile trigger such as the pink tail, you should be fine.

I disagree with the above posts. A 150 is way too small for 3-4 triggers let alone 3-4 of the same trigger. Maybe in a 500 gallon tank. Triggers are aggressive!

I have 2 triggers in a 125G no problems, a picasso and a niger.
Don't even bother with each other. But since they are aggressive, and
each fish has its own personality there is always some risk

I had a clown, picaso, and a hawaiian niger in my tank years ago. Never had any problems BUT they were smaller fish.

1 niger, 1 undulated, 1 huma huma. 1 picasso, pair of blue throats with a french angel, pellini grouper, porky puffer and 2 domino damsels, now no problems because I just got rid of my sohal tang!

it is a 135 with a 40 gal sump

i took a sohal tang out of there recently he was a bully, and i just got rid of the french angel and the pollini grouper this weekend only triggers in the tank now no big fights

Multiple triggers in a tank especially one as small as a 150 g is a bad idea. There are many cases of people saying that they do it and it works out fine but there fish have probably only been together for a few months and are still sub adults. Once these fish start reaching 5"-6" then they will start seeing problems, actually they will probably lose all of the fish by then and will be to embarassed to post about it so we will never know.

My fish are over 5-6" and still get along fine. So I guess we do know. But like I said each fish has its own personality, so take caution.
