Did you do any changement in the tank lately.
Change your bulbs or add more water. I can see that your zoa's beside are close also. Are they also closed? |

try moving it to a spot with higher flow to blow away some of the gunk. it looks like it's decomposing from the center. i had a yellow fiji leather do that once, and it never came back from it...but regular toadstools should be a little more tougher.

Flow rate in the tank is 75x turn over. What are the holes coming from is there something eating the toadstool.

Mine will make holes when it's ready to drop babies, but they don't look like that.
Those holes look like something is eating it or maybe big chunks of salt creep fell in it or something like that. Sarcophyton are incredible at healing themselves. Try using a turkey baster to keep the gunk blown out of it and see if it doesn't just mend. It looks healthy outside the holes. Good luck |

Take a turkey baster and blow away some of the gunk from it and see if that helps.

Someone is eating it. I had the exact same thing happen. When the lights go off grab a flashlight and take a look. Trust me mine look the same. I caught a strawberry crab eating away.

I agree with Xenia King and think that something is eating it.

That sucks. Sorry to hear that. Doesn't make it any easier that you had it over two years either.

in the future if you get a coral or shroom or toadstool that is dying fast, you can frag it and keep the healthy portions. Many times you can then grow new ones at least.

Good advice! The sad thing is I thought it had a chance and it seemed alive but one morning it was gone. Very strange.
I am freaking out a bit because now my devils hand has some looks to be bite marks also. All my sps and lps are doing very well. Who eats softies? I did see something at night next to my devils hand looked kind of like a limpet but moved pretty quick. It is about the size of a quater. Any ideas?
