Perfecto Tanks?

I am going to go a bit larger than what I currently have for the time being until I can get the tank that I really want. I need more room and I want to go as cheap as I can. I have other things to take care of at the moment but I am really hurting for room in my tank and it is suffering as a result.

I was going to go with either a 65g or 75g all-glass reef ready (depending on the price of the 75 vs 65) but I was quoted a really good price on a perfecto 75 reef ready.

Is anyone using a perfecto and how do they stack up to a all-glass?

I also have to get a canopy to mount my T5's in and I am aware that all-glass definitely makes canopies but I don't know if perfecto does or not. I have to have a canopy.

Also on the all-glass do people use their stanpipes or do they build their own. My LFS said the all-glass standpipe kits are expensive. I am not sure if the perfecto comes with one or not.

Thanks for your help,
C.G>

I think your LFS may be telling a fib.
I just priced a AGA 55. With plumbing kit, 179. Without kit, 169.

Are you sure they arent refering to a total package which includes the sump? That bumped the price on the 55 to 285.

This is what I was quoted (keep in mind all of these are reef ready pre-drilled tanks),

Chris,
There are a couple of tanks on sale this month. (April) AGA 65 Black or Oak w/overflow. And also the overflow kit = $289.99 (Kit is expensive)

Perfecto 75 Bk or Oak with overflow $259.99

90-Gallon AGA not on sale but $410.99

The AGA 75 would be quite a bit higher than the Perfecto. Do you need the price?

Another LFS had a similar price on the AG 65 reef ready.

I just got my 55 gal RR Perfecto w/ the corner overflow this weekend. It will probably be a while before I get it set up since right now I only have the stand, and sump tank for it. Have a lot of equipment to gather yet and the sump and canopy to build.

I'm pretty impressed with it so far. I realize I don't have it set up but it feels like it's built like a tank. I can pick it up by myself but not easily. They do come with the plumbing. It has the stand pipe, return pipe, bulkheads, and a dual directional lock line.

It had been on back order for a few weeks. The factory had to make a new batch of them. The tag said manufactured March 07.

I'm like you, I need to upgrade but couldn't go all out right now the way I wanted to. I'm planning on my next tank being custom built, but this one should get me by for quite a while.

My 65 gallon is a perfecto. I have had 0 probs with it. It is just as good as my 120 AGA. Only difference I can find between the 2 is the overflow placement. Perfecto seems to prefer putting them in the corners which I like. I went ahead and got the plumbing kit with my perfecto (they have their own). Call me lazy...

My stand and cap are from AGA on both tanks.

No they are from Mitch up at Fishey Business in Bowling Green. I really like Mitch and I do business with him whenever I can. He is very comparable in price to the critter and he gives me his FULL attention every time I go in. I can't say enough good things about him; he has treated me really well.

The Critter on the other hand......

I just bought my Perfecto 120 twin corner flo 60x26x18 for $399 at my local LFS. I think it is built nice, Beveled edges, black silicone, constructed nice. It came with bulkheads and plumbing. What I really like is that the overflows have covers on them so I can clean them when junk gets in there.

I like Perfecto black silicone, corner overflow, plumbing is free, and they might be better built. Worked in LFS for a long time and can say there were many defects with All Glass aquariums. We had to send many of them back swirls in the glass and chips that were there before there before the tanks were built. Maybe they just sent us the junk.

alright you are correct.

I was thinking about 48x24x24. Isn't that the standard dimensions of a 120? I have never heard of a 120 that is 18 inches tall.

It is 26 inches tall and 18 inches front to back. Maybe I should have posted it 60x18x26, dunno. As far as I know Perfecto is the only mfg that makes this as a standard size tank. I am replacing an acrylic tank and this is what I found local and am happy with it, especially the price.
