Acquired a TearDrop!!!!!!!!

Well lets just say I may start coming to this store more often!

I decided to stop by one of the so-so shops on the way home from work today. Well I'll say it was WELL worth the stop! In an unlit tank, I spied 4 clams. One of them I noticed looked rather odd. Upon closer inspection, a Tear Drop!! But being calm, I casually asked how much for the small maximas, a jaw dropping $19.99. Well everyone can kinda guess how the rest went.

I did notice it was gaping some and little to almost no reaction to shadows. Probably from being in that unlit tank and I don't know how long it was in there, surprised it was still there at that. Now its happily in my tank with a very happy owner lol! I cant seem to find my USB for my digi cam but will post pics when I find it!

Marco, this was Fish World between Bellaire and Synott. Decent selection on salts and moderately good on corals. Its enough to keep me comin back every few weeks just to see whats new.

o.k., been there many times and bought several clams, although IMO the store was much better when John owned it. I was there a couple of weeks ago and John had just gotten back from Viet-nam and I asked him if the store was going to get any improvements since there so called remodel and he assured me that he was gonna get the store back on track.

A teardrop clam is simply a clam that shows a pattern of colors on it's mantle that resemble teardrops. These specimans seem to be more popular than other colored clams. But, I believe all clams are beautiful especially teardrop clams !!

Hello Everyone.

Would this clam qualify as a Teardrop Pattern or more like a LEOPARD pattern?
I got this clam from my supplier last week, it came from the Solomon Islands. He took the pictures as well.

Hi Barry,

Do you happen to supply Clams to Canada or have any contact here in Canada?

Wow, I never realized maximas came in patterns like that. I have a blue, an aqua and a black & green. I've been wanting a purple maxima too but now that I've seen a teardrop I would really like one like that. Lukan I see you're in Canada too, where did you get that amazing clam?

toptank - that's a really beautiful pattern too. It must be quite something on a clam that size in real life (as opposed to a photo I mean).

I think someone needs to invent teleportation real quick just so I can get something like that up here in Canada
