yeah, I've already had one, it just recently died because of ick. He was my favorite fish, and an eating machine...on algae.

You could go with a yellow, kole, tomini, possibly purple.

I have a purple in my 75. I'd say he's medium sized (a little bigger than a dwarf angel) at the moment and appears to have plenty of swimming room. He darts through the arches, etc and is fabulously healthy and beautiful looking.

Any zebrasoma would work, but tangs in the genus acanthurus aren't going to fit in your 75, hope that helps.

My favorite tang is Chevron - beautiful, active, and eats lots of wastes (literally). They are much more expensive, but I think they're worth it.

The are MUCH more expensive in my experience and don't they eventually lose that cool coloring as they mature anyway? I'd say go with one that's going to stick with the colors you like it to have.

I would say a lemonpeel would work. A whitecheek might be a harder one to keep and also maybe outgrow the tank over time. If you go with a zebrasoma type, just don't get the sailfins, they can outgrow big tanks too

that's pretty smart. if you do get a tang for your 40, it wouldn't be very happy....so smart thinking!!!

I just now took a tape measurer and put it up to my tank at 9in, and 8in and it looks to me like they wouldn't have enough swimming room. any of you think the same?

the smaller bristle tooths tangs (Ctenochaetus) would do well (Kole, Chevron). They arent huge swimmers compared to other tangs, and spend a lot of time with their heads against the rocks grazing.

the purple does well in a smaller tank and is quite hardy IMO.

nah, I'd rather not get a Purple because I want to try to keep this reef as peaceful as possible, you know?

A Naso would be extremely too big for my tank. I only have a 75G. I wish I could have a Naso though!
