saltwaterfish.com

Has anyone ever bought anything from this online site (saltwaterfish.com)? There prices seem very reasonable, and I was thinking of getting some fish from there, but wanted to check some "references" first!

In November I purchased a Haddoni Anemone, a Chalk Basslet, a Large Pink Zoo colony
a small Ricordea, a Conch, and a sand sifting cucumber. All are doing very well, the anemone aclimated quickly and the chalk basslet is growing like a weed, the zoos are beautiful. Great prices, excellent packaging and the best endorsement is everything is alive and thriving. I will buy with confidence from them again. If you search this site you will find some bad reviews mixed with positive reviews but I think the good outweigh the bad and my experience has been very positive plus you can't beat their prices.

My experience could not have been any worse. I'm glad others are having better success...I wouldn't want anyone to endure what I did with them.

I ordered just last week, and they were fantastic! I lost one fish, but the 15day guarantee covered it. I was very pleased with the pricing and service, so will order again soon!

I've heard nothing but good things about them, but every time I tried to order from them the items/livestock were out of stock.

They are fine, until you have an issue. This always happens eventually.

Then you will be on here talking about how much they SUCK!

Don't say I didn't warn ya.

I've ordered from them three or four times, only had one fish die but it was covered by their guarentee. They will not however answer emails and have no local phone number which is not really a good sign but I plan to order a cleanup crew and a fish in the next month or so. Just make sure you know what you want and don't plan on changing your order around. Also they take an indeterminite amount of days to ship an order once placed, could be 1-7 days which is inconvenient.

Me & my bro ordered a clean up crew, dottyback, & small ric. Good pricing & everything was packaged great. Though they say free shipping it turns out to be $17.99 (7.99 FedEx fuel surcharge) & ($10.00 box fee), which is still cheap. Only ordered once & was all good, so would probally order from again if they had something I wanted, but they're always out of stock with lots of things.

just recieved my order from them today, mostly inverts and one fish. so far I am not overly thrilled. The crabs that I purchased that were labeled as 1", are more like a 1/4 " or so. the smallest emeralds I have ever seen. but i can live with that.

the real concern is a yellow watchman, that is not in good shape. he has a growth on the edge of his eye and that eye is cloudy. he did not look well when during the acclimation, (floating upside down) and now several hours later, is very lethargic, I do not think he will make it through the night.

I have sent them an email just a minute ago, lets see how they respond

mc-cro, long time...

You know of my experience with them. Keep us posted on how they handle it. I'm curious if they've improved their ways since their debacle with me...not that I'd EVER order from them again.

I knew I should have researched them, they got me on the great prices and free shipping. If I had seen the problems that you and others have had, I would not have ordered.

I do believe I will be sticking with my privatetly owned LFS. they deserve to get the highter prices just based on the customer service, and its local economy. (not that a $20 fish means anything to anyone in economic terms)

update, so far the response has been promisin. They replied to my email, although they said they never would have sent out a fish with problems and asked how the fish was doing. I replied "its dead".

they told me discard it (instead of packing in salt and sandwich bags) and sent me a garauantee code right away.

ofcourse, now I do have to buy more stuff to recieve my replacement fish.

At least they are living up to their end of the guarantee policy, that's more than they did with me. Maybe the negative posts here are finally having some influence on their practices...

There was a group from the middle TN board that did a group buy and lost nearly all the fish. Post a ? on their site to get the specs.
Where in PA are you from?

Do they send the replacement fish free or do you have to pay for the shipping?

They include them in your next order...if they feel like it.
