What brand test kits do people use?

I was just wondering what brands of test kits do people use? I am starting to get into seriously testing mre things about my water and I want to make sure I use good test kits. I am thinking of going with salifert but I want to know what everyone else uses.

Thanks for the input.

Salifert is great but not worth it for rotiune tesking of Cal, Alk......IMO

I use Salifert for Mag,Iodine, and Strontium. I also keep a Salifert Cal test to verify my AP cal test.

Why do you use it to verify the ap calcium test?

Yeah both the Phosphate and the nitrate are a pain. The Phosphate is horribly inaccurate for SPS keepers. It have a +-.4 error rate

"...what brands of test kits do people use?"

I recently had the opportunity to use the ELOS-Europe test lit for Calcium and Alk. It is a marine supply company from Italy. The calcium had a really easy to read end point in 25ppm increments. The test process was similiar to the Salifert.

The ELOS Alk test was incredibly simple. A one step process of test water plus a single reagent. The end point was clear and crisp and easy to read in whole numbers of dKh. If the costs where equal, I have no idea what they cost, it would be my choice. I would love to try their Mg test. Tom (RS) might get some in if enough of us were interested.

I use Salifert test kits for Ca, alk, Mg, and pH.
I use an 'Aquarium Pharmaceuticals' nitrate test kit.
A refractometer for SG/salinity is indispensable.
I've always wanted to have access to a Hach low range PO4 test kit (or something similar), but those kits cost close to $100. Perhaps this is something that should be considered by the URSNY for the equipment library.
