corals you have and others dont!

I was going to ask people to post pics of there "rare" corals, but that would have started a big debate about what "rare" actually is.

I dont have anything to post, since i am still stocking one tank, and building the other.

Lets see your corals that other people dont have!...or that not to many people have!

It would be like private message/ email suicide if someone was brave enough to post a coral nobody had.

Still, I wanna see.

I have a couple that i havent seen much of out there.

Maybe they are just so common that everyone doesnt bother posting them ?...lol.

LE "incredible hulk acro"

at this point it doesnt look so "hulky", but everytime i start getting color in it..it falls behind my rock or on another coral.
Im sure a few have it, but not many.

This is one i have seen similar morphs of, but never the color.
I am unsure of its ID.

Heres one that i havent seen, but would love to see if others had.
I sort of dubbed it as "stumpy robusta", a fairly slow grower..it likes to put its growth into thickening of the branches rather than outward growth.

hard to see from the pic, but a couple branches are easily an inch thick.
Ill have to dig a couple more pics i have up of it, also a few of it spawning.

Heres one that is getting fairly common out here, it has been affectionatly dubbed "the bubble gum" acro...ill have to take a full picture but heres a macro of a tip.

I only know of 5 hobbyists that have the blue and white true echinata from Aquascene, and just learned that one of them RTN'd So, we're back down to 4.

Karl, I saw that someone was selling their whole colony of the Aquascene Blue echinata down in the Bay Area...I may get lucky and get a frag of it..We shall see.

fload, I have that same LE browneye milli .

I have only seen a few of these...tacocat said he's only seen one other and that was Ron Joncola's colony. Mine is getting more blue with the yellow mouths. I know, I know, its an lps but...

Yeah, I saw that. Unfortunately, it's not an echinata, or else, it would already be in my tank It's likely an aculeus. Definitely not the same as James'. If it was healthy, that would've been a great deal.

I like the color of that LPS frag

Side question - is cyphastrea considered an sps or lps? I ask because I have one I've not seen before anywhere else, and may post it up if it's considered an sps

I'm pretty sure Ihave the same coral. Yours has much better color than mine. Got mine as an aquaculture colony from a shop. Was way too dense, and just recently busted it up so it'll get better flow. Hopefully it'll color up some more.

Thanks! Definitely, the Rolls Royce of my collection. If my tank crashed (knock on wood), I'd still smile if this was the only survivor

You're absolutely right. Eric did have a similar, if not the same piece:

I'm partial to the blue and white, but the blue and green was just intense.

I have a small piece of this that I got a few months back from a local around here that probably has one of the rarest collections that I know of.. It's got to be one of my favorite pieces. I can't wait for it to grow up. So far I am getting descent growth out of it but it has lost a little of it's spectacular blue since it has gone in my tank..

I am not sure how rare this is elsewhere, but I haven't seen it available locally except for the time I bought it.
