Help Identify and Remove!
I don't know what it is, you can click on the link for a pic. It started on a branch of zoa's and before I could contain it or pull it out it has taken over. All of my parameters are in check. Back about 2 weeks ago I had a nitrite reading of 10, but aside from that everything has been normal.
ph-8.3 nitrite, nitrate, phosphate-0 calcium-420 alk-9 I have not added anything into my tank in months. I would really appreciate if someone could identify and tell me how to get rid of it. It is one branch that grows out of the rock then there are 3-4 branches off of the main branch. http://s128.photobucket.com/albums/p177/jterranova/?action=view¤t=_MG_1454.jpg&refPage=&imgAnch=imgAnch1 |

That branching stuff is some sort of algae. Getting it out of the zoos may be difficult, finding a fish that doesn't harm them.

tkeracer619- I wish I could just pick them out. They are so small and they've been spreading so fast by the time I pick it off of one rock it will be all over another. If I knew exactly what "it" was I could then atleast know what I was fighting...

I could be way off here, but they may be hydroids. Your zoas look pretty unhappy - hydroids sting, algae doesn't, which is why I'm guessing you might be dealing with an animal rather than a plant. You could try posting in the zoanthid forum, and maybe the invert and/or algae forums for IDs.

ACBlinky- I think you are right I researched the different types of hydroids and they seem to look like the pics I found. I also found a product called Hydrocks which claims to eradicate the hydroids. Thanks for your help.
