Crown Jewel in my 270G SPS Reef

Pleased to introduce the arrival of the "Crown Jewel" in my SPS display tank - a pair of Crosshatch Triggers. She is approximately 5" in size and he is approximately 7" in size. They join my black tang, tomini tang, purple tang, blue tang, mystery wrasse, peppermint hogfish, purple firefish and mandarin goby.

I was genuinely concerned they were too big for my system but with the layout of my rockwork even the male has lots of space to swim and turn around.

This may effect my low nutrient system I have been notorious for as I will need to add the proper food for these guys, but I am up for a change. They really change the dynamic of my tank!

Very beautiful! I would love to have a system large enough to support those beauties!

This is the best I have as of today. This is the left portion of my 6' tank. For reference, the green coral to the bottom tight hand side below him is about 6" in size.

Thanks all. Gotta say I am loving these guys, after 2 days in the tank the female is already eating.

These are a pretty rare fish for us up in Canada, at least IME. I have only once seen a pair available for sale, and they were both 10"+ size.

Looks great Dave. I saw a pair here in Sacramento over the weekend, but my tank is way too small. Maybe one day.
