No updates for 2 months. I think Tim needs a better adversary like another mantis. I guess that would get very expensive to feed though. I had a predatory rock crab that I threw into the ocean that might have given him a run for his money.

OK, I grew up in Phx,see...

Er, does Phx have that 'Beach-Front-Property' now that used to be on those cheesy shirts in the 70's showing Arizonians basking at the water after california 'fell into the ocean in a quake'.

Wait, I live in California, and we haven't fallen into the ocean (yet...)

I assume that you threw said crab into the Ocean somewhere where there is actual access to the Ocean?

(Man, the things that we type when we are waiting for Tim to appear...)

Smile Gorilla Crabs maybe?

I remember reading this thread months ago! it is still awsome. Hey Densityman (or anyone) go over to the Tampa Bay Saltwater forum and talk to some of the people who got some TBS LR. Almost all get a rather large crab (when mature) bout 5 inches. Common name Gorila crab.
Bout half way down theres 2 good pictures. http://reefcentral.com/forums/showthread.php?s=&threadid=564260&perpage=25&pagenumber=12
Just make a thread "Gorilla Crabs Wanted" you will get hundreds! They hate them!
Sounds like a good adversary. The Gorilla Crab Clan
Like 3-4 and see what happens

That is completely unture. Well not completely untrue. Lots of things have happened to Tim. A few things have happened to me also, including a new position and increased demands on my time outside of work...

All that aside...

Tim LIVES!

Sorry for the long pause between posts recently, just been freakishly busy around here and I sorta dropped off the recreational web scene for a bit.

I've got some more back-reading to do here and a few dozen photos to process to punctuate Tim's most recent adventures. He even had a roommate for a few weeks. Things went sour at their first dinner party though... but that's a story for another day.

Until then, here's a few more recent shots of the world's most cynical curmudgeon of the 10gallon seas:

What all of my snorkeling pictures turn out like...

A rare shot of Tim being brave enough to venture from seclusion to check me out at the glass. In all reality he was probably just hungry and groveling for a snack...

Such moments never last long. Here he is scant seconds later already bored of my antics...

And finally a couple of him skulking through the weeds looking for pre... er... new friends... (good color representation here)

Take care until next time...

Thanks (as always) for the kind words and for sticking with the thread this long (especially during an elongate dry period). I'll be out of town this week again, but expect another 'update' after that. Darth Crab's chronicles of his time spent as Tim's roommate will be available.

Special thanks to McBeck for giving Darth Crab permission to move in...
