I don't know if it is a scam or a good deal we'll wish we jumped on.
I thought about buying $100 worth and storing it until I'm 100 years old. I also wondered how in the world one of America's least efficient and possibly most corrupt organizations can stay in business until I'm 100 years old. Maybe I'll just buy a $100 Savings Bond and sleep satisfied. Dana |

You buy a stamp at today's price and allegedly it will be good forever, protecting the purchaser from future USPS price increases.

When does the rate increase to 41 cents ?
Today ? I'm still using 37 cent stamps with 2 cent stamps I had to buy. (I buy them in the 100 roll) I also dont use stamps much anymore and I try to pay all my bills online (So much easier) I kinda like the idea of the forever stamp, The USPS likes to raise those rates....

The forever stamp and the new rate ones go on sale today for 41 cents, the rate isn't changing until May 14, honestly there is no point in buying the forever stamp until you know the rates are changing again because until they do it's 41 cents either way, you're not saving anything. And they don't come in rolls, only in increments of 20 but buy a bunch before the next rate increase and it would be worthwhile, I think USPS is hoping most people buy them and lost them, I only mail a couple things a month so I could care less either way.

I'll have to check into it for my office. We go thru about 100 stamps a month.
I like snail mail still, I mail out about 60 bills a month still. I still think it's cool to get something in hte mail other than a bill from time to time. Makes me smile

Elsie McLean, 102, oldest golfer to ace hole Associated Press Posted: 4 days ago CHICO, Calif. (AP) - Elsie McLean thought she might have lost her ball on the par-3, 100-yard fourth hole at Bidwell Park. Instead, the 102-year-old Chico woman became the oldest golfer ever to make a hole-in-one on a regulation course. Because of the slope of the green, McLean and her partners couldn't see where her ball landed after she teed off. "Where's my ball?" McLean asked. Her friends, Elizabeth Rake and Kathy Crowder, found it in the cup. "I said, 'Oh, my Lord. It can't be true. It can't be true.' I was so excited. And the girls were absolutely overcome," McLean said. It was McLean's first ace. "Well everybody wants a hole-in-one, and I said, 'Why can't I have a hole-in-one?' I came within inches once," McLean told television station KNVN. McLean, who used a driver, broke the age record of 101 set by Harold Stilson in 2001 at Deerfield Country Club in Florida. McLean, who has been featured in golf magazines before, will appear on "The Tonight Show with Jay Leno" on April 24 to celebrate her accomplishment. "For an old lady," she said, "I still hit the ball pretty good." http://msn.foxsports.com/golf/story/...HPHCP>1=9331

I guess in Canada, it's probably more because they need to feed the dogs that pull the postal service mail sleds.

I'm guessing Canada charges more, because they aren't as efficient as the US postal Service.
That would be pretty sad.

A stamp never goes bad: you can always use them, even stamps issued in the 1920's with an upside down airplane, if you were crazy enough...still valid for postage.
I run a business and the forever stamps are a good idea for us: we never can remember what the heck the new deal is on letter-sized stuff. We have more 1 cent, 2 cent, three cent and what-not than you can shake a stick at---and if I really feel wicked someday I'll paste 41 1/centers everywhere but the addy on some letter and just be rid of them...
