I just set my RO nw-150 up 4 days ago on my new 90 and I am very impressed so far. I already had to empty my collection cup and it had tea colored skimmate that stunk to hell.( I am cycling w/ live rock). I had an aqua-c and berlin before this one and I think I like my NW 150 better. I set the water leveel initially and havent had to change it since. Not bad for the first week of the skimmer. I do hear a slight hum from my pump but it is no louder than any other skimmer I have had. Overall a great product.

Hey guys, I was just reading some of your input about Marine Solutions, I live about 10 minutes away from them, and they are some of the best people you can deal with, I am sure you will get your skimmers when they come in, from what I understand they will all be in on Oct 11th, Joe and the guys up there are straight shooters, they stock their own stuff, you should see the boxes of skimmers stacked 4 or 5 wide and at least 10' tall, unbelievable inventory. I have the 200 and love it, I didnt break it in with vinegar and within 3 days I was getting nice dark skimmate. So hang in there on the waiting thing for yours, I am sure when you order something online the payment is automatically just deducted and processed, its not a human decision....dont worry they will not dissapear on you, they are a real business with a retail store..........just an FYI

By the cost of that skimmer alone i would sure hope it comes with the model as well =) because if you have a need for a skimmer that big then you best have a extra set of hands helping you do some of the work.

MUch much better, but its neck is STILL too small.

With 4 tricked out OTP 3000s, I think I could use my NW200 AS A NECK.

This is from 3 days worth of skimming. I run ozone and run wet but this thing pulls out a ton of stuff!

That is a 5gallon water jug!

Anin, this isn't the best photo, but it's all I've got at the moment. You can see the feed line with the ball valve on the right. You've got your output valve on the left, there is pvc that routes the water back into the sump. This was just setup like this for testing, I actually have my skimmer on a cabinet next to the tank at this time.

Hope the picture explains enough, if not, I'm sure one of the other guys will be more than happy to explain further.

Daniel

changing the neck is probably too risky, extending is much easier but how much improvement do we expect?

Yep the thing rocks it out does my dual Beckett! I was running 2 mak 4's on that thing never got that much skimmate in so short of time. I had dumped out the 5 gallon jug which was half full once before this picture was taken believe it or not!

Here is a link to the video of my tank.

I am interested on how this is being run externally. I currently run Aqua C EV120 ouside my 10g sump. The pump is submerged and run through a flex pipe then goes to the skimmer. the water from skimmer drains back to the sump.

with this skimmer, do you need 2 pumps? the picture has a black box attached to the skimmer .is this pump #2?

or do you guys need to drill a hole on the 10g sump?

thank in advance. I really appreciate the help.

I think thats what they have. Specs say 400mm = 15 3/4" body and neck looks to be about 1/2 ? It is more that 1/3 for sure. I wonder if they used up all of there 8" stock to make necks for these and the nw200's are backordered???

If they get these on the market soon it is sure going to put a hurtin on some German skimmer sales....

With a skimmer that big, I would hope it would have a drain for that little bit of water. That little bit of water can weigh a ton on something that big I'd imagine!
