I will check that out.

Yeah carson - I agree, some hawks make great additions - nice color, cool personality, and they usually work great so long as you don't have any really small, peaceful fish and inverts.

Actually long nosed hawks are colored to be camoflagued when perching on certain sea fans - their favorite hiding spot. Now that would be a cool concept reef - provided it would be a lot of specialized work to keep the sea fan happy.

Cross hatches, blue throats, sargassum are as reef safe as many other fish that are considered reef safe. Several other species such as pink tails and nigers will often act reef safe.

What about Pink Tails? Would you consider them reef safe?

Hey Carson, do you have any pics of your 12g with the angler? I was thinking of starting one of those.

I think I might try to put a R. rectangulus in as an experiment. I want to make sure I have another tank set up first though as a back up plan

wow can't even really see him in the first pic! That's a tiny one! Do they grow very fast? I wanted to put one in a 12g like you, or in my 20L with my SFE, just afraid he may eventually eat the SFE.

What else is in there with the angler?

don't know much on growth rate but the one I have gets about 8'' I think. If you want one that will be able to stay in your 12gl then I suggest a wartskin angler they get around 4-5'' maxed out.
