How to catch a coral banded shrimp
Let me have it. If anyone has had any success with catching a coral banded, please let me know. Or even tell me the methods you tried that didn't work so I don't try them. He has eaten my peppermint shrimp and quite a few hermit crabs, which didn't bother me too much, but for the past four days my green clown goby has been missing. I don't know if the cb did it, but I think I might try to catch him and put him in another tank. Thanks for any help!

Wait till night time. It should be out and about when the lights are off.

When I caught mine, I put a shrimp pellet in my hand and it came to eat it and I held it and pulled it out. That process took about ten seconds, but my tank was only a 29 gallon.

Feed the tank lightly for a day or two. Then I would use a jar with some meaty food in the bottom. Put it in at lights out, and then put a net over it when he goes in to get the food.

We've only ever had to move one when we were breaking down a tank so they were always easy to catch just with a net. However, let me throw you a heads up just in case....they sometimes drop their claw arms when you try to catch them. We had that happen with our CBS during the one netting and freaked out thinking we snagged him on something and ripped them off. It's the same thing as when lizards drop their tails when fleeing from predators - survival method to distract you (and it works rather well...) Don't stress this if it happens, they grow back in a molt or two.
Good luck catching him!
