New 120 gallon reef tank

Well after months of planning and with the invaluable help of Just Dave, I am finally about ready to put livestock in my new 120 gallon rubble tank.

Here's the tank itself. The water's a bit cloudy from the preliminary aquascaping this afternoon. (I'll shorten the closed-loop returns later)






Here's the closed loop. It's powered by two Reeflo Snapper pumps controlled by a Reefkeeper II.






The sump is a 55 gallon aquarium with circulation provided by a PCX-40.






I went a bit overboard on the electrical panel, as you can see. Power for the aquarium is provided by two 20-amp dedicated circuits. You can also see the Snappers in action. In the empty spot I will place a Geo calcium reactor.






Two American DJ switch panels keep everything organized.






Thanks to Ramiro and Dustin for the idea; I just hope I can come close to the quality of their tanks. Thanks again to Dave for all of his work.

Looks awesome. I love that stand. Is that maple or oak? I love your rubble formation. Cant wait to see it with the fish in there.

The stand is oak. I would have run the wiring myself, but the design of my house is not conducive to easy cabling. The electrician charged me $400, which included two GFI breakers. I did, however, have to go back and install regular breakers since the GFIs would frequently trip with startup loads.

But everyone already knows how it is you, my friend, who man the front lines keeping all of us novice reefkeepers from certain disasters of our own inept making. Without your counsel, surely I would have already killed every saltwater critter I own.
