kaklwasser doing question

question about kalk dosing.
I built a kalkenstein and going to put it on a timer with a aqua lift dosing pump.

Question is i will have a timer for the kalk mixer, and one for the pump. Correct me if i'm wrong but don't i want to mix the kalk, stop the pump and then start the water pump slowly pumping the kalk water into the sump.

Meaning i don't want the mixing pump on while pumping water in the sump, correct. I would would want to make the intervals far enough apart that the sediment falls before the water pumps into the sump?

I have never used a kalk reactor but your logic sounds correct. I don't think you want to have the kalk mixing while dosing.

I have my controller set to mix the kalk for 1 minute twice per day and have it turn off my dosing pump for an hour at those times to let the lime water settle out.

You may not need that much settling time, but you want to be sure that you are adding saturated water only.

What if you use a pH controller? Would it matter if you don't turn off your mixing pump?

You want the lime powder to settle to the bottom of your reactor or mixing container so that the powder is not pumped into the tank. continually mixing is not necessary. Once the water is saturated more mixing will not benefit you.
