this is going to be a beautiful tank. but before the water flow system can be truly designed properly you need to describe the inhabitants that will be housed in this tank first. is this a full reef with all sps corals or will this be a mixed reef with softies and lps with some sps here and there? there is alot to consider with a tank this size. you could put in a closed loop and have nothing but problems. then there is the rock work. how will that be set up inside the tank? will there be open areas for fish to swim and caves for rest from the flow of the closed loop system? what kind of fish are planed for this tank? big of small? the tank that is the closest in size to this one is energys 1700 g reef. its 15 ft long 5 ft wide and 33 " tall. its almost identical sized. he uses multipial ways to circulate water through his system. there is other alternative ways that are not mentioned here tha may be good ways also. say for instance use 2 or 3 surge tanks and some 6300 tunze streams. set up a tide pattern of sorts to mimic the ocean more. mabe some wave boxes hidden in the rock work to break up the flow of the closed loop system and make more random flow through the rock work. there is many ways to create the right flow pattern inside a large tank like this. its all a matter of what you have the room for and how you see this tank going together and what system best fits the needs of the inhabitants.

just my 2 cents worth.

in a tank that size i think 2 tunze 6200 on each side will be fine on a wave cycle.

I think I got the flow mostly nailed down to start with when the tank arrives and then I'll add as needed

There are now two threads on this aquarium, so I guess it's best to keep it simple and use the one in the link http://reefcentral.com/forums/showthread.php?s=&threadid=1075675
