Given that the people who you bought the retro from told you it wasn't made for that and they couldn't make it work, why did you think you could?
FWIW, I have used the Current USA mod on our Eclipse 2 system and it works really well. That mod entailed removing all of the stock equipment, except the base and cover and replacing with all new PC parts.

I would think that would be the only real way to go with yours as well.

Have you tried looking at the new forms of CF lights now available at most home improvement stores? You might be able to find a set-up that will fit into your hood and find better bulbs than the stock ones.

He never said I couldnt make it work. He said he had no suggestions. Also, this same retro has been used by someone on nano-reef.com. Unfortunately that member gave little instructions and is no longer active.
