preliminary sucess with taenioconger hassi

A little background info-
I didn't go looking to try this guy, he just sort of fell into my care. My aunt and i stopped at a lfs that she likes because they carry "neat stuff," and i hate because they carry things they cannot keep alive. Ten minutes later I'm handed a bag with a garden eel complete with a "happy easter" and out the door we went .
I quickly built a new tank for him with a sandbed that slopes on a gradient from 8" to 4", added sw from my sps tank, a few lbs of liverock from the softie tank, and some caulerpa from the fuge. The first week was hairy with the eel neither eating nor properly settling down. I began to offer live baby brine around day 2. I noticed signs of interest around day 5. He's been progressively improving since then and today he finally took his first flake food ( formula1 crushed to about 3/16" particles and placed in a hang-on power filter to get soft and gradually spill into the tank.

now that I look at him he's actually kinda cute ...
maybe I'll keep him after all
