Aqua C Skimmer - Noisy

Hi all,

I have an aqua C remora hang on that is still operating effectively but is buzzing very loudly. I have taken apart and cleaned the power head, and anything on the housing that can be removed. I have alsoo cleaned the nozzle with brush that was included with the unit and still no luck. The skimmer is resting securely on the back of the tank and is not vibrating.

Does/has anybody else had a problem like this? I so how did you correct it?

you know, mine does too sometimes. I don't know what causes it, I usually just go tap on it and it stops hehe

What pump do you use with it? I called AquaC and asked them for what they recommend for quiet operation...they said the Maxijet 1200 is quite a bit quieter then the Rio800...I would call them if you are still having problems...they have great customer service

Thanks for the input guys.....the pump on the skimmer is the Rio that came with it. I know its not the power head because I can take it off and alow it to pump happily (and quietly) in the tank.

Mantisshrip - if I can't fix it get it fixed...I won't donate it, but you might get a nice big discount....; ).

TerminalFrost - I agree, the do have some helpfull people and they were the ones that suggested the work I did.
