Removing/Eradicating Zoos

When I first started my tanks I had a lot of zoo frags here and there. I have been slowly removing the frags of Zoos and small rocks they were on replacing them with more and more SPS and dome LPS. Trying to move zoos to our smallest tank and keep them in there only. This rock became covered with them and its a rather large piece that is slightly cone shaped at 6" x 7" x 6" high. Its one of those rocks that "Fit" perfect where its at so would like to keep it in there and place some SPS frags there. Is there a way to get rid of the Zoos and the mint green palys that took over the other side? I was going to start possibly scraping them off but worried about releasing toxins in the tank. Is this wise or should I ditch/sell the rock and just try and get another one that would fit there?
Just trying to weigh the possible bad that could come from trying to strip the zoos over just getting a new rock. Is there a "safe" way to get this off the rock any other way?

If you try scraping, do so with extreme caution. There've been many threads recently about the toxin they contain.

I'd try Joe's Juice or Kalk paste first. Turn off the flow and apply in small quantities.

I'm in the same boat. I'm looking for sundial snails or zoa eating nudibranchs, but everyone seems to flush them before I can speak up.

Well looks like I`ll see if a local person is interested in the rock or trade it for some fresh rock pieces at the LFS to replace it.
I really didn't mean to sound like I wanted "DEATH" to all my Zoos but just the ones on a few large pieces that are a part of the rock work. I saved all the little colonies that were pretty much on their own smaller rocks but have these that spread to the big rocks rather quickly.

Thanks for the help and suggestions all!!
