Anyone run (suppl.)T5's perpendicular to tank?

I have a situation. My Lumenmax 2 leaves no room fo me to add T5's in front and back of it.(36"x18"x21"H 58g)

.....So, can i just mount two 18" T5's perpendicular to tank on left and right side of lumenmax2 in canopoy?

What kind of spead can i expect from left to right of t5 lamp at bottom of sand bed running this way?
In other words, will two 18" T5 actinics(one on each side of lumenmax)cover the entire sand bed? They will have individual reflectors and be approximately only 3.5" from the sides of the tank.(they do make 18" T5's correct?)
Thanks!

I would guess about 18" spread max. You may get some shadowing in the middle, but if you are using them for supplimentation, you may not notice.

yes, they will be on either side of a 400W SE CV Reeflux 10K in the lumenmax 2(i'm currently running just this and have to 'manually' add a crappy what i believe to be NO T5 for dusk and dawn, lol)

I run PC's perpendicular for the exact same reason. Only I have the Lumenarc mini on a 20" wide tank.

It works well, and I was able to get the bulbs closer to the water.

Where did you find 18" T5 actinics?

I looked through all of the vendors sites here and couldn't find even an 18" bulb that is not PC.

I do think i have seen 18" URI actinics, but they are N.O.

If you find something let me know, and I will do the same.
