What was the smoke coming from the rocks?
Out of the corner of my eye, I saw a puff of smoke coming from one of the caves in the rocks. It happened twice within five minutes. At first I thought one of the pumps had caught on fire, but they seem to be working fine. Does anyone know what this is?

I had the same exact thing happen to me last night. I posted a thread, I was told it was some kind of spawning worm of some sort. Check it out.

could be worm, bi-valve... along with many other things. Could have been spawning, or just relieving itself.....

What's a bi-valve worm and is it bad to have?

Did you see a little tube come out, blow "smoke" and then go back in the rock? That's what happened with me.

I didn't see anything because it looked like it came from one of the little caves in the rock

It sounds pretty similar. Someone told me to relax and enjoy the natural processes of the reef. I just hope that I don't wake up one day with 1,000,000 worms.

bi-valve = clam, mollusk or oyster
worm = worm (literally thousands of species)

I seen my turbo snails smoke. I think its something to do with breeding.
