L.I.R.A. success

I want to start by saying that I am very pleased to say that I have been fortunate to meet many good people via the L.I.R.A. I am proud to consider all as friends. This includes fellow members new and old' as well as distinguished speakers which we would not have access to previously. We have shared much information and tips to each other at our meetings. Access to Atlantis and the behind the scenes tour has been a privilege.
It does however take funds to keep our club running. These funds will allow us to have a larger venue for our meetings. Attendance has been growing more and more each meeting with new members joining each month. We would also like to organize field trips to other Aquariums and possibly vacation spots with discounts to members; according to our members show of interest. Suggestions for group outings can be brought up at our monthly meetings.
We have an opportunity to bring funds into our club via the NERAC convention. These funds are essential to keep our club going. Several vendors have donated supplies to this cause. They will be raffled off at the convention as well as during the year at our monthly meetings. This is our convention and it requires our attendance. The success of our convention depends on the numbers we can bring in. The crowd size will determine future Vendor support and paid ad space. All of which will yield money for our club.
Tickets will be available at our next meeting, so remember to make your purchase at that time.
I know that we all have busy schedules and it is not easy to juggle our time on weekends. But if we make a concerted effort we can make this work. Please keep in mind the dates of the conference and bring your wife and family along. All will have a fun and rewarding experience.
