Triggers

I read an article about triggers & it said to feed them hard things to help file their teeth down. Does anyone this? I have a small Niger, should I start now or let it get bigger? What do you feed your Niger? I can't fill mine up. It acts like it hasn't ate in a week.

planktonic feeding triggers like nigers and pinktails don't have the choppers like Rhinechanthus triggers (such as picassos and humas), and don't really need too many things hard. What i usually use is gulf shrimp chunks, leave the shell on.
Also if you want to crack a SW clam leave enough of the shell cracked open for the trigger to have to dig it out, he will.
As for feeding, they will eat themselves sick, since hes small feed him frequently but small meals, like a chunks of shrimp or two. However when he starts to get some size on him, don't feed him so much

Did you read the article in reefkeeping magaize on keeping triggers?
