Why not? It takes very little time and is super efficent and then you will have nothing to worry about.

Get a hose siphon it out into a large garbage can, catch fish, put water back in.

One of my tanks in a 135 and I took out a fish in less then 30 minutes doing it that way.. No probelms, no stress and none of the inhabients were hurt nor any of my corals.

Now remember the deal here....my little guys dared me to eat him when he's been caught...actually triple dog dared me...so ya know....how do I walk away from that !

Oh yeah...my youngest said...if I didn't eat it....he was gonna go with mommy to the store...and buy me a fish dress !

Grab a 2L bottle and cut out the bottom.
Glue some sort of "float" to it (I used a sponge)
Let it sit in the tank a few days.

Depending on size of the fish, you can leave the cap off, or poke a hole in it for smaller fish.

Run a small piece of fishing line through the hole.

After a few days with this in the tank, and minimal feedings, tie a small piece of shrimp to the string/line and as the fish start going at it, pull it into the 2l bottle. Fish will follow...

Once in, tilt the bottle so that the cut end is above the water line and your fish is trapped in the bottle.

UH_OH....

I'm getting ready to try this method myself...I've been told it works in a VERY large reeftank in upstate New York.

Wait until a few hours after your lights go out...keep everything dark. Then really quickly, blast all of the light you can into the tank. Apparently, it blinds and disorients the fish for a few moments...easy pickins...or so they say.

I've also heard another version of this trick which is much easier (it takes a while for those halides to power up) to accomplish. Simply use a high powered flashlight (I know YOU have a few of those lying around...maybe even clipped to your belt) to accomplish the same goal.
