Let me clear my eyes, get rid of the lump in my throat, and then say that was one HELL of a story. An inspiration for all.

I admit, my response was similar to tradoszs'. Not that I take all of the diving I'm able to do for granted, but NOW I realize how fortunate I am to be 1) Healthy and 2) able to dive frequently.
I actually was feeling bad I've only been diving for work lately and not pleasure, BUT the simple fact that I have been on many spectacular dives makes me very fortunate!! My hats off to both Matt and his Father, for making me remember to never take life for granted. Good link, happy to not miss that one!

yea, I had to hold back the tears.
I think Matt would enjoy a reef tank. Would be nice to work out a donation for him. Its a touching story we can all learn from. |

Interesting Idea Glove.....I wonder if there is a local reef club near his home? I'm sure they would need someone to maintain and care for their tank, as I can imagine how full their hands are now.
Did you guys catch where he lived? Maybe try to contact a club near them? I like the idea Glove!! As I'm sure he wasn't in FL, all I could offer would be small donations to the fund. I'll keep checking this thread to see if something develops.

I did not catch where he is from. I agree someone would need to 'help' keep a tank going but the efforts would be worth the reward as long as it wouldnt be a burden to the family.

The story says he was raised in Minnesota.
What are the reef clubs in that state? |

I'm sure there are a few up there, but I know nothing about that area.....so we'll bump this thing in hopes of getting someone local to possibly chime in.

I made a post in the 'Greater Minnesota' reef club forum. Maybe someone knows more about Matt and his story.

I'm tagging along on this one. The only help I could be would be in the form of a donation. If this thing develops...count me in.
Maybe someone with some pull could get RC involved some how?
