I've been following your thread since my wife gave me a 30 gallon aquarium a few weeks back (I still haven't even started to set mine up).
I just wanted to thank you for posting such a detailed account of your trials to date with setting up your tank. It really has given me some direction with how to set everything up. |

just got my seio 1100 awesome flow in the 29g now.ive got the 620 on 1 side and the 1100 on the otherside.ive got the 1100 on a timer on/off every 15min its working good. Those tunzes are really nice and i like that they are black but for the best bang 4 its buck these seios do the job pretty well.

bang for buck the seio magnetic holder is 40 dollars putting the seio at the same price point or higher

I was actually just going to ask about the seios. Im sure I can DIY a magnetic holder with my POS mag-float.

you can do that mod but the seio is not not a great pumpt and the 20 dollar price difference is worth it

You gotta get rid of that silica sand and get some aragonite.
It will make a HUGE improvement. JMO.

Whats wrong with the silica?? Is it bad in an aesthitic, chemical, or some other way?? Or is it the myth about silicates and nitrates. I have read articles that disprove this.
