I have the DDNW_250 and for the money it can not be beat. It works really well for my 300 gallon system.

I am contemplating about getting the TDNW-300 recir and was wondering what the nw looks like on these pumps. I tried looking but couldn't find any pictures of it. Could someone post pictures of the nw.

Also could someone clarify the pump models that are attached to these two models:
TDNW-300 Recirculating
DDNW-250 Recirculating

dpfenny, I haven't seen the DDNW-150 in action, but I would probably pick it over the DNW-200. Unless you plan on doing some mods, the OTP-2000 pump pulls almost as much air as the OTP-3000. So, the two-pump model will probably give more air flow. I don't know if the pump has the re-start "issue" on this skimmer or not, but to me that's not a deal breaker.

I have watched this happen and from everything else in the tank nothing changes...Its like all the sudden the pump goes into turbo mode and starts creating a ton of bubbles.....
any progress here? Mine just did this over the weekend, and I think it has something to do with the o-ring on the standpipe.
Did you do the gate valve mod?

I hate to cross-post but I am having difficulties getting an answer to the following question:

http://archive.reefcentral.com/forum...readid=1008018

Basically, I would like a NW-200 to fit in my 40g sump, I only have 9" of clearence to get it into the sump and wanted to make sure I can fit it before buying it. The footprint is larger than 9" however I'm hoping that by removing the pump or other components I could squeeze it in there...

Or do all of you have at least 10.5" clearence over your sumps?

I would really appreciate any feedback in regards, I'd hate to buy first and find out later...

Thank you

I am not in the market for a new HOB skimmer but if I was I would give one of the models a try. The rest of the product line works well so I have no doubts that the HOB's would be any differant.

This is off topic b/c I cant get a response in the general forum. Maybe some of you Octopus skimmer owner can help.

I just bought an Octo skimmer off a person and wanted to know what the best sump depth would be for my NW110 protein skimmer (non-recirc). It came with no instructions so any person who knows, please help me out.
Thanks

Someone told me around 6-8" so I guess 7" will be my aim.

Good news for people looking to buy a RO skimmer
Premium Aquatics is now carrying them. PA is by far the best vendor I have ever dealt with. Customer service is 2nd to none.

I guess there's been so much demand for the product, PA finally had to offer the full product line. If you look at their sponsor forum, they said they were thinking of dropping the line back in November:

Good prices at PA - I paid 169 at marinesolutions for the NW150 in November, and am very disappointed at their service. I accidently broke the body, and they only recommended weld-on, no follow up or request for pics, offer to replace body, etc.

reefkeeping involves major equipment expenditure - I sure won't be spending any more at marinesolutions.

(Sorry for the rant).

I checked my customer service expectations at the door a while ago. This is a niche hobby, we modify our equipment with model boat propellers and gutter guard in order to sustain aquatic life that scientists rarely understand completely.
