PVC Gurgle

I just moved my sump into the garage to create a remote sump instead of undertank. Best thing I ever did. I have only one problem. In order to do this I ran my overflow and return pipes along the floor/baseboard about 12 feet and into the garage, then just boxed in the pipes. Doesnt look too bad, however, when I got to the garage wall instead of ruining the molding I did 2 90 degree elbows to go up and over the molding, then drilled my hole into the sheet rock. Well it turns out that I now have gurgling water at these 2 turns. Is there a way to muffle/silence this. Also if I decided to redo my plumbing, would putting 45 degree elbows in lessen the noise? I'm figuring that the sharpness of the turn is causing the gurgling. Thoughts/recommendations/advice please.

Thanks.

i cant picture exactly how the pipe runs

does the pipe go back down when it goes up and over the moulding?

could just be a high point where air that gets sucked down in the overflows rises and gets stuck, or just leftover air when you put the pipe together.

replace the 90 that goes back down with a T and cap, (aka make a dorso here) drill a small hole in the cap... done and done..

What is happening is your little step up step down is giving all the air a chance to surface, then gets pulled back down with the water....

I should add, that you should make the cap higher than the over flow of your tank....

So really it will be a T then a pipe up how ever tall, and the cap that, or don't cap it..... it doesn't really need the cap, but if your worried stuff might fall in there, then it may be better to cap it.

PVC Gurgle

Sorry, I guess I didn't expain it properly. I ran the over flow pipes along the living room wall. Then a 90 up and a 90 out to the garage to go over the molding. In essence the pipe out to the garage runs parallel to the pipe in the livingroom just about 2 inches higher. It doesn't go down once it's in the garage but actaully goes up again to do an over the top and into the sump. I hope the drawing I attached makes it clearer. Thanks for your help.

ok, then replace the top 90 with a T.
You just have to somehow let that air out.... The tall part of the T will let the air out, but not water.... as long as its taller than your overflow...

Don't think I can do that. It would mean putting the T and about 6 ft of pvc in the livingroom. Wife would go nutz.

Replace the 90 on top of the sump with a T and run a piece of pipe up above the level of the water in the fish tank, then you can cap it if you want, but you probably wont need to, its in the garage, basically you need a vent on the drain, its burping on you, you could add the T anywhere in the run, better near the middle or so
