Hi guys, I was on Oahu (Honolulu, HI) for 8 months but I'm back in San Diego now. While I was there I setup a 12 gal nano. There weren't a whole lot of places to get fish but I did go to Coral Fish Hawaii in Aiea. The best place I liked the best was Modern Pet Center down in Honolulu. They had the best prices and the best looking fish. Their diver goes out every Saturday. Be sure to check them out.

Hey guys... I just wanted to thank everyone that came out for the BBQ! It was a great time! We definitely have to do that again. Maybe we can do the rotating BBQ thing? Great people, food and fun. We are on our way!
Later,
Don

No dealer is supposed to ship to Hawaii. I grab my rocks from the high tide mark at the local beach. They'll turn back into "live" rock eventually.

Howzit everyone, I'm a student at OSU and I've got a reef tank up here (legally, hehehe), and maybe at the next meeting we could have a guest speaker go over the correct way to catch your own fish. We should go and ask a rep. from MAC or a MAC certified exporter to teach a simple class on the beach or something. Just an idea.

That's actually not a bad idea. We do have some people here that are professional fish catchers ... not sure if we could get a MAC certified person or not (don't know if they have anybody on the island). Welcome to the thread, Palani, BTW.

You mean to tell me that there are no MAC certified collectors from Hawaii!!!! I thought we had the best catching methods and lowest stressed fish in the Pacific.

Palani - don't need MAC certification per se in Hawaii since cyanide fishing is illegal (and enforced) here in Hawaii.

superxdude - kill them now before they take over the tank

I have set up a test forum if y'all would like to give it a shot.

http://superxdude.proboards76.com/

It's free and I am looking for something better.

Please flame me if you don't like it.

the whole "MAC" certified is crap. I've seen so many beat up fish that are "mac" certified it is scary... just another reason to charge more...

racoons eat coral BTW.. be careful

site looks good

We could use more action there at the site.

If there are wholesalers who want to advertise, that would be great.

Cut out the middle man and save us some $$$. Or we can meet you at the dock. Either way sounds good to me.
