yes, it can eat just about any fish you put in the tank with it... take a look at this:

Octo vs. shark

That was amazing. I couldnt see anything that would have given a reference as far as size. How big was that shark and octopus?

Hey, I'm not sure about that. I believe the shark was still juvenile, probably between 2' - 3'. What I understand of the video is that it was taken in an aquarium. The aquarium started to notice its sharks were disappearing so they set up the video equipment and found out why. I don't know if it's a true story, but the video is real and that octopus, or any octopus, is best served in its own, species tank... :-)

Yes, it is a true story. I've watched a particular video with news reporter dialogue over it.

It said in the video that the aquarium was losing 3 to 4' sharks every other day, so that should give an idea how big the one in the video is.

WOW. I didn't think they could eat that much. Must have been a very territorial octopus.

The Red Devils up here in the Puget Sound are huge! A 3-4ft shark seems reasonable. But I don't know about every other day. The narration in the video didn't exactly seem scientific. It's actually pretty funny with the horror movie suspense music in the background. Like "we've just discovered the new ultimate predator of the sea!" They've been talking about giant squid and octopi for a long time. I'd rather face a great white I think.

I believe what is really amazing is that the octo immediately flipped the Shark over as if it knew that when sharks are rolled over they go into a hypnotic state and their senses (including defense mechanisme) are very low if not nill.
It would have been easy for that shark to bite into the octopus and inflict mortal damage if it was really awake.
Once again octopi prove how intelligent they are.

That whale was pretty darn easy on her. She could have been destroyed. I'm amazed that that kind of thing doesn't happen a lot more. A very effective, intelligent predator stuck in a big fish tank being spoon fed sardines. Where's the excitement? I think I'd eat a trainer every now and then..

Here's a link by the way:

if that doesnt work, just search youtube for killer whale girl..
