top center brace on my tank

I have a 46 bow front that is about 12 years old and the top center brace of the wood molding is starting to pull away from the front of the tank. I have contacted all-glass and they can ship me a new top molding for the tank but was wondering how hard it is to get the existing trim off and how to do it or should I just purchase a new tank and tranfer every thing to that one. It has roughly 70 lbs of live rock and some fish, button polyps and mushrooms. also with about a 3-4 inch sand bed. my concern is that when transfer i transfer evereything is that my areobic bacteria in the sand will create a spike in amonia or nitrate thatcould harm everything in the tank. Looking for some advice on this
thanks
John

I would take all the stuff out the tank put in buckets, remove the center brace by using a razor and scrape all the silicone off, and than glue the new one on and let dry.

who did you talk to at all glass? I called the number on their webpage and asked for customer service. They told me there was no warranty, and they didn't even sell the frames directly. I would need to go through a local store and have them special order one.

FYI,

It is not an easy job. I had the same problem: All Glass sent me a replacement top. But when I tried to remove it, I cracked the glass. Be very careful not to put too much pressure on the glass.

You will see that All Glass has beefed-up the design so it will not happen again. Props to them for that.
