Newbie to WI looking to buy some frags

Hi Everyone,

I'm a newbie in Milwaukee, just moved in from Boston MA where I was in the Boston Reefers Society. Glad I finally found a Milwaukee reef club, I was posting online in the madison reefers for a bit, and hoping that wasn't the closest one to us!

I have 2 barren tanks right now - a 46 bow which used to be a FOWLR which I'm converting into a low-light reef, and a 16gal nano, which I want to do mostly softies and a few SPS to try. I was looking to start buying frags to fill these tanks up - looking for generally anything which is low maintanenace - GSP, xenia, zoos, mushrooms, and also some sun polyps, monti, birdsnest, sea fans, whatever else you might have, with two nearly empty tanks I'm open to just about anything! Hope to hear back from some people soon so I can start restocking, and I'll look forward to meeting everyone at the next meeting!

Thanks!

-Dave

If you ever come up to Central Wisconsin around Wausau I have just about everything you would be looking for. About a three hour drive from Milwaukee.

You might want to try the coral corner or go to Ill. Sharky's is a great place to start.

Thanks everyone! Sticky, you're a bit far at the moment, but my fiance has family up that neck of the woods, maybe next time we're up there visiting! I'm always up for checking out tanks / frags!

I think I may be making a trip to the Coral Corner next week, seems pretty close to Milwaukee, and a good place to start out here.

Madtownmax, I'd take some of that monti off your hands when it's ready, let me know!

hey there... i was just up at Coral Corner yesterday... They didn't get much coral in this week, but theres still some cool things to look at... They sell individual mushroom polyps for six bucks each... few different kinds of em... and they do have some frags... xenia for sure and they have a bunch of good deals all around the shop... you might want to wait until next week to make the trip from milwaukee... but, if you're just itching (f'n A i know that feeling!) im sure you could find something in your price range that you'd like to have. Have a hart in racine is pretty cool to most of the time... its about three miles west of Coral Corner on the same road (hwy 20)... and, if you're coming down that far already... A Pet Shop in kenosha isn't much farther... they actually have some pretty cool pieces right now... i just picked up a killer yuma two days ago there.. they still have a few more for really reasonable prices... anyhow, yadda, yadda... feel free to email me with any questions for directions or whatever else... all the best.. Ty..

I have a few rocks of mushrooms and a rock of zoanthids, I'd be willing to sell the zoanthids for cheap and give the mushrooms to you for free (they are really bland looking... although one rock is a rock of Ricordea yuma (albiet they are brown yuma). P.M. me if you are interested and we can work out the details, I live about 20 min south of milwaukee out in franklin.

I also have some orange monti cap frags i'd sell, I could also probably make a few more frags of some of my other stuff while your here.

Steve, thanks for all the frags / corals! You have a great tank! I'm trying to frag off some of my yellow polyps to spread them around my tank a bit, if you ever want any, they're yours.

Looks like everythign you gave me is doing well, with the exception of what I think was xenia (from the back right of your tank). I'm not sure what I did wrong, but it doesn't seem to be happy at all. Maybe in a few days it'll make a recovery though!

I didn't give you any of my Xenia. You are probably thinking of the Colve polyps that was on the right side of the tank half way up? Just glue or rubber band those pieces to something and they will attach and spread.

Steve
