Criticism welcome -- full tank shot.

I'm a couple months out from my one year anniversarry of my first attempt at a saltwater/reef tank. I thought I'd post a pic and see what kind of criticism I could get. I'm always looking for ways to improve it's appearance or maybe somebody can mention that perfect coral to fill that blah spot of the rockwork. Thanks for looking.

I gotta tell you I don't know how anyone can criticize that tank. It looks really nice. How many fish do you have in the tank?

Very nice. Can you tell me a little bit about it? Can you tell me about the type of equipment you are using?

Very nice tank. I have nothing to add except that.

Regards,

Pat

yeah, you have some really nice looking corals! maybe you could throw a coral or two smaller ones on one of the rocks that is toward the middle of the tank at the bottom slightly to the right (just below and slightly left of the blue/yellow fish (not sure of name)). just a thought. looks really good IMO.

Very nice, not much to criticize there! If you want to cover the empty area of rock, you could try zoanthids, clove polyps, yellow polyps, maybe mushrooms or Xenia.

i agree awsome looking tank, and like eveyone else is saying, put a coral in that spot just under the tang.

i'd either go with some colorfull shrooms, or maybe some ricordias. go for the color affect right there. (not that there isnt already color)

very nice tank. As the others said, not much to criticize, but if you want it i can give a little - mainly my own personal preference) - if you want a shimmering look with the halide, add water movement to the top of the water.

ya that would be cool. and plus the surface aggitation will help with gas exchange, so if your pH is low...that will likely bump it up a bit.

I actually have better surface agitation than that, but I had my Wavemaker set to "feed" so the main pump and all but one powerhead were off. I think I might try pointing one of the main pump outlets up towards the surface for a bit more agitation. Thanks for the advice.

Yeah, I think the day is nearing where the purple tang will need to be traded in for a more suitable species for my tank. He's extremely healthy, has great character, and get's along with along with all his tank mates, so it will be hard to see him go.
