the one with 2 Resun 3 pumps is actually rated for a smaller tank than the one OTP3000 model available now

I got my NW-150 running with vinegar last night for cleaning but I was having a problem with the pump. It was barely pushing any water in the cylinder so on a whim i blew into the venturi tube and low and behold it kicked in? I redid all the connections and checked the o-rings but with the same result. I have to blow in the darn thing every time I turn it on. Anyone know of anything i can try or is it defective?

The resun king pumps are made in korea, and theyre either the same pump as teh sedra or GenX, I can't remember which. Theyre not bad... a little loud though.

Wow, I hope that’s not the total line up. No $200 8" body skimmers anymore.
The 16" big boy DNW400 looks like a real good value at $800. actually its a awesome price for that big of a skimmer.
Im not sure about the others. They still look like the have a restrictive 90 on the output.
More expensive on the in sump models and noisier pumps.

I say get the nw-200 for $200 while you can.

Roland, it looks like theyre all more expensive on that site, even the ones that are readily available. I think that site is just expensive. Wait till Marine Solutions gets them.

Rich, those are aussie dollars. I assume that nG conversion rate is acurate $475 Aus.=$350 US ($1.36= $1.00 US). Thier prices are right in line with our retail online prices.
DNW -200 is $400 US
DNW-150 is $300 US

Just ordered a Gen X pump to replace the original on the NW110. I'll post results in a few days.

The NW110 pump, IMO, is not powerful enough.

What's the difference between the Pacific Coast line of skimmers and the RO's?

Well finally did it . I got my RPS-3000 .

I am impressed so far . I have seen the very fist ones and if you go all the way back in this thread you will see I dis them really hard ..Mainly about contruction actuall all construction.

It still no where near H&S,Deltec or ER quality but its a hell of alot better now than it once was. All seams are perfect ,no over gluing no leaning parts. better machined pieces and packaging was awesome .

all the mods people have been talking about to get that beast of a skimmer more air wont be necessary:

here is the vendor

btw, they are going for over $350 us dollars over in australia ($475 australian beans)

Those are the old ones. Coralvue had the reef octopus up on there website as "coming soon" for over a year. They were going to start selling them with the Resun's but it ended up using the Haelia pumps.

I wonder if any of our Aussie member own one of the $800 4 pump octos. That would be a beast!

you mean something like a dedicated "Octopus skimmer mod only" thead

ive over doubled the air flow with the mods on my NW-200 down side i also double the water flow. it now pumping 500GPH though the skimmer now i have to recirc mod it. to get my flow tru back down were i want it.

RMA-6-ssv..........But why should I have to mod it out the box? I have an H&S a200-1260 that needed absolutley no modifications at all and performs like a beast.

What was the not so easy mod?

BTW I am sad to say it won't fit in my sump like the H&S .So I got to figure out if I can trust it not to leak or overflow the cup . I don't like the drain as it would keep one from cleaning their cup and I always get the best skimmate with a clean cup.

240 setup w/ 75 sump-fuge

I am in the process of setting up a 240 gallon tank w/ a 75 gallon sump! Right now I am just setting this up and buying the equipment for it.

I am looking for a skimmer for this setup...I need some advice on these skimmers and do you think they would be sufficient for my setup?

Pacifc Coast RPS-3000 Recirculating ]

or

Pacific Coast PS-3000 needle wheel

thanx,

Jay

thanx,

Personally I would use this one if it were me:

Octopus NW-200 Skimmer

I just bought one for my 75 gallon but in the near future it will be used on a 225 gallon with a 75 gallon sump. I think it will be plenty of skimmer for that sized tank.

Just me opinion though. Nothing factual as of yet.
