Atlantis Mantis

Atlantis aquarium currently has a cool 1 1/2 mantis. If you go to Atlantisaquarium.net, go to cleaners, there it is. Im assuming by it rather round body that it is some sort of Odonodactylus species.

That mantis looks awesome, I really love his coloration with the combination of green and white. I would think about buying him but I am giving my tank more time to mature and stabilize before I get a mantis. Here is a link for those too lazy to reach the page themselves: http://atlantisaquarium.net/inverts.html

looks like a Haptosquilla stoliura and not a H. glyptocercus

but i'm no expert, just going by what pics show here:
http://www.ucmp.berkeley.edu/arthrop...ame=h_stoliura

that is a pretty nice mantis though, maybe worth it for someone who's local to NorCal

The green and white species is Haptosquilla stoliurus, a common reef flat species in Indonesia. They are a robust species, but extremely shy. In the aquarium, you will rarely see them. They stay in their cavity most of the time.

The pictured mantis top-left here does look like -

(and it appears Dr. Roy's already confirmed that)
